Alternative Dispute Resolution Code and other provisions

19/10/2026

On 16 October 2026, Law 5344/2026 (GG A’ 168/2026) on the “Alternative Dispute Resolution Code and other provisions” was officially published. Setting a new benchmark at the EU level, this milestone legislation is the first unified code ever to regulate arbitration, mediation, and judicial mediation within a single, coherent instrument.

Its core purpose is clear: to establish a comprehensive framework for ADR mechanisms that safeguards parties’ interests, significantly reduces Court caseloads, and ultimately improves the administration of Justice.

In the latest Dryllerakis Law Firm Arbitration Newsletter, our experts John C. Dryllerakis, Claire Sergaki, and Vassileios Plakoulas break down the 12 key amendments introduced by the new Law in the field of arbitration, offering essential insights for practitioners and businesses alike. Dryllerakis Law Firm is particularly pleased to note that some of the comments it submitted during the public consultation on the ADR Code have been incorporated within the text of the Law.
