THE 2026 ICC ARBITRATION RULES: Amendments towards a more user-friendly framework

29/05/2026

On 22 May 2026, the International Chamber of Commerce (“ICC”) released the long-awaited new edition of its arbitration rules.

The 2026 ICC Arbitration Rules reflect a clear shift towards a more efficiency-oriented and user-focused arbitration framework, building upon existing arbitralpractices and introducing, among other things, a new fast-track procedure, more streamlined procedural mechanisms, and enhanced tools for the early determination of claims and urgent relief.

In the latest Dryllerakis Law Firm Arbitration Newsletter, our experts, John C. Dryllerakis, Claire Sergaki, and Vassileios Plakoulas, outline some of the principal amendments introduced by the new rules and examine their practical implications for parties, counsel and arbitral tribunals.
