Dryllerakis & Associates

Dryllerakis & Associates is historically strong in areas such as competition, tax and dispute resolution. The firm’s broader corporate practice, incorporating M&A, is also recognised by clients and peers. For financial and corporate matters senior partner John Dryllerakis is the main contact and he is backed by banking and structured finance partners Emmanuel Dryllerakis and Sophia Grigoriadou, banking and corporate partners Cleomenis Yannikas and Vassilis Karantounias. “We’ve worked with Dryllerakis for a number of years on corporate housekeeping,” says one corporate counsel. “They tend to be our choice for general law matters. They always proved to be very useful and helpful in this space.” The firm has been kept busy by the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund in the past 12 months advising on the sale of Emporiki Bank and the restructurings of Hellenic Postbank and ATE Bank. Outside of this, the team acted for Eurobank Ergasias, Alpha Bank and National Bank of Greece on a securitised bond loan valued at €178 million as part of a crude oil purchase. In the corporate space the firm has a specialisation in the oil and food and beverage industry. One oil industry client points to the firm’s “unparalleled knowledge of M&A specificities. [They have] great in depth knowledge of tax and business law aspects and rare business acumen”. Another corporate client adds “Dryllerakis & Associates meets our expectations in the best way”. In terms of transactional highlights, the firm acted for Aegean Airlines on its acquisition of Olympic Air and in the privatisation space for Gazprom on the potential acquisition of DEPA.
