GLOBAL COMPETITION REVIEW

Elite

Dryllerakis Law Firm has played a leading role in most significant antitrust cases in Greece in recent years and is involved in the authority’s ongoing investigations of the food, beer, poultry, flour mills, cosmetics and foreign languages schools industries. Partner and head of the competition practice John Dryllerakis is a former competition commissioner. He leads this three-partner, one-associate competition group.

The team is currently advising the main players in the Greek poultry market in a highly publicised alleged cartel in the sector. It is also defending two language school associations against collusion allegations and is acting for the complainant in an abuse of dominance case in the beer industry.

The firm also played an important role in representing Selonda in the first “crisis cartel”, in which the authority annulled the fine, and also worked on repealing a fine issued to the Piraeus Port Authority for a range of alleged competition violations. Dryllerakis is also acting for Burlington Books in its appeal to have a sanction that was already slashed by half annulled completely
