On May 7, the 3rd Conference “Modern Employment Relations: Where HR meets Legal,” organized by Nomiki Bibliothiki, brought together leading professionals to address key challenges in today’s evolving employment landscape. Our Senior Partner, Vassilis Constantinidis, had the pleasure of moderating the panel discussion “Digital Work Card & Workforce Shortages,” marking his third consecutive participation in the conference.

The discussion focused on the Digital Work Card — a key labor reform gradually expanding across all sectors in Greece. It is designed to ensure real-time tracking of working hours, enhance transparency, and strengthen mutual trust between employers and employees. Panelists highlighted the practical challenges that both employers and public authorities are facing during the gradual rollout of the system. While the Digital Work Card represents a major step toward modernization, a number of implementation issues remain open, particularly in complex or non-standard employment scenarios.

Beyond that, the panel addressed the persistent issue of talent shortages — especially in attracting and retaining younger generations. The discussion emphasized the need for adaptable HR strategies that respond to evolving workforce expectations while remaining aligned with legal and technological developments.

At Dryllerakis Law Firm, we are committed to contributing to forward-looking discussions that shape the future of employment law and support the practical implementation of modern workplace policies in Greece.”
