EU Tax Incentives & the Green Transition at the 5th Law Forum on Taxation

26/09/2025

On September 24th, our Partner, Eleftherios Rantos represented Dryllerakis Law Firm in the 5th Law Forum on Taxation, organized by CLEON Conferences & Communications under the auspices of the SEV Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, the Economic Chamber of Greece, and the ESEE – Hellenic Confederation of Commerce & Entrepreneurship.

During his presentation, Eleftherios shed light on the EU’s new framework of tax incentives under the EU Clean Industrial Deal, as reflected in the Clean Industry Deal State Aid Framework (CISAF) and the Commission Recommendation on tax incentives. His presentation focused on the specific fiscal measures designed to accelerate Europe’s green transition including key tax incentives, such as tax credits for investments in clean technologies and decarbonization, accelerated tax depreciation for investments in clean technology and the possibility of loss carry-forward rules for clean investments.

He also shared a thought-provoking concern on whether the EU can realistically combine its ambitious climate and development strategies and whether the relevant measures are truly ambitious and coherent enough to serve two seemingly contradictory goals.
