Dryllerakis Law Firm is pleased to share that our Partner, Claire Sergaki, participated as a speaker in the 7th International Arbitration Conference titled “International Arbitrators: Duties, Qualifications, Selection,” co-organized by Nomiki Vivliothiki and EODID Athens Mediation & Arbitration Organization.

Claire Sergaki contributed to the panel by addressing the issue of repeat appointments and the risks of issue conflict, analyzing how these factors may affect an arbitrator’s independence and impartiality.

Drawing on recent case law, she addressed the extent to which prior expressions of legal opinion or repeated appointments by the same party or counsel may raise legitimate doubts, as well as the duty of parties to investigate potential conflicts. The conference brought together leading arbitration practitioners and scholars to explore key aspects of arbitrator selection and arbitrator’s duties in international arbitration.
